Finding Time During the Holidays

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Christmas holidays are just around the corner, and with that comes lots of time spent with family and friends we may have not seen in a while, many food temptations and lots of downtime and relaxation. A combination of these things, along with most gyms being closed for a few days, can give us all an excuse not to exercise and stay active during the holidays and stagnate all that progress we have made in transforming our health and well being throughout the past year.

This is where very short home workout routines come in handy because they can be done in the comfort of your own home at any time of the day in a very short period of time. A short high intensity workout of 30 minutes every day or other day can go a long way in maintaining all the results and progress you have made along with keeping your joints and muscles active until you come back in the new year with a full routine again. Below is a simple full body routine that can be performed with minimal equipment in the comfort of your own home in approximately 20-30 minutes.
A1: Body Weight Squat/Hinge- 3 x 15 reps
A2: Mountain climbers 3 x 20 reps/side
A3: Reverse crunches- 3 x 15 reps
B1: Reverse Lunge with overhead reaches -2 x 12 reps/side
B2: Kneeling push-up- 2 x max reps
B3: Forearm Plank – 2 x 40-60 seconds
C1: Hip bridge with flat feet- 2x 12
C2: High Plank alternating toe touches 2 x10/side
C3: Jumping Jacks/ skipping- 60seconds
Static stretching:
– Static toe reach (hamstring)
– Standing shin grab (quadriceps)
– Bear hugs (shoulders/chest)
– Alternating knee grab (glute/hip)
This home workout along with some light activity (walking the dog, shoveling snow, etc.) will help us keep in shape through out the holidays and maintain our results we have worked hard to achieve until we get back into full swing in the New Year.
Happy Holidays from the Movi Team! :)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
