The Power of Water

The human body is made up of about 75% of water from the time we are born up to our last days and it is very important component to optimal health.
So how do we know if we are drinking enough water or H2O?

Below are a list of symptoms that can mean you are not drinking enough water:
Thirst

Loss of appetite
Dry skin

Flaky skin (around the face area)

Head rush (during simple movements)

Chills
Skin flushing

Constantly feeling weak or fatigued

Dark colored urine (urine should be close to 100% clear)

Dry mouth
chapped lips
Watery eyes
Itchy throat
If pain occurs when going number 2
Therefore, remember to DRINK UP anywhere from 6-8 full glasses of water everyday so that your body and your brain are always functioning to their full capacity!
Also, dehydration can leave you feeling ‘hungry’ when all the while your body is just needing more water. Make a conscious effort to stay hydrated throughout the day to prevent overeating between meal times due to hunger twinges that may just be from dehydration. When you feel the urge to snack between scheduled eating times try having some water first and see if you still feel hungry 15 minutes to 30 minutes later.
Lastly, try to stick to water when you hydrate. Yes there are tons of other options out there, from fruit juice and pop to all sorts of fancy sports and exercise drinks, however water is the ONLY beverage that contains no added sugars, caffeine, or chemicals and has zero calories! Plus sugary drinks and alcoholic beverages can leave more dehydrated than you were before so you are counteracting your efforts with these drinks!
